1Password allows you to store lots of information in a vault: logins, credit card details, social security numbers, bank account info, email account details, software licenses, notes, and identities. Access to the vault is password protected, of course. Thus, you and you alone have access to the data stored by 1Password. Not only can you securely store passwords (and other sensitive information), you can also use 1Password to create strong passwords. So to sum it all up, you can use 1Password to create strong passwords, securely store all your passwords, and efficiently manage all your passwords.

1Password is available for multiple platforms: Microsoft’s Windows operating system, Apple’s Mac OS X and iOS, and Google’s Android mobile operating system.

A wizard will help you install 1Password on a Windows-powered machine. Once the installation process completes, you will be asked to create a new 1Password vault, enter a master password (it will block access to the aforementioned vault), and choose if you want to install 1Password browser extensions. At startup, 1Password will automatically check for new versions.

As mentioned at the start of this article, you can use 1Password to store logins, credit card details, social security numbers, bank account info, email account details, software licenses, notes, and identities. All these items are grouped into a handful of categories and the panel on the left hand side of 1Password’s interface lists these categories. From the panel on the left hand side you can easily go over all the data stored by 1Password.

Here’s a list that focuses on the features and functions that 1Password has to offer: securely store passwords and other sensitive info in a password protected vault; open logins in your default browser or in other web browsers; automatically log into your online accounts; download icons for all your logins; Wi-Fi Sync feature allows you to sync data with an iOS-powered mobile device; import and export data; back up your 1Password vault, restore your 1Password vault; generate passwords; create multiple vaults; let 1Password automatically fill out forms; and more.

The demo version of 1Password allows you to store up to 20 items. To be able to store as many items as you want, you must purchase a license.

Create and manage passwords. Securely store passwords and other sensitive information. Easily open websites and quickly log in. All these wonderful features and more are offered by 1Password, a properly good password manager developed by AgileBits.

Pros

1Password is available for multiple platforms: Windows, Mac, iOS, Android. You can create one or multiple vaults; access to a vault is password protected. 1Password’s interface is very easy to use. Create passwords, manage passwords, securely store passwords, automatically enter passwords. Securely store other types of data: credit card details, notes, software licenses, and more.

Cons

Trial limitations: the trial will store no more than 20 items.
